Thoughts on enjoying the world wide web
Right click, view source. 🤩
When I first started messing with websites, seeing the source was a gateway to something incredible. I would see something interesting, and I could see how it was done. Like seeing the recipe of a delicious dish, or opening the hood of a car. Over time it became less magical. I imagine a chef can see a dish and guess how it's made. A mechanic can imagine what is under the hood. While I am still occasionally curious to see how a website is made, more often than not what I find is depressing.
Simple sites delivering too much JavaScript, unoptimized images, cruft. It makes it hard to enjoy the web. I'm too judgy. I need to care less.
